Country Music Association Success with iMIS Membership Software

The Country Music Association (CMA) in Nashville, Tennessee, is the first trade association to promote a particular type of music and has been credited with making country music the most listened-to genre in the United States. Its membership includes nearly 6,000 country music professionals and companies from 40 different countries.


At CMA, we are fairly self-sufficient, hardly ever calling for support. The documentation that accompanies updates is excellent and the technical support site has really helped us stay up-to-date with the latest news on iMIS, current releases, and the customer community lets us find answers to our questions easily.

Challenge

CMA members range from studio engineers and publicists to the artists themselves -- the association uses 20 different categories to classify professionals and companies for membership. It needed a system that could quickly search and sort these different categories and had the flexibility to track and report on member statistics and trends.

Solution

CMA selected iMIS because it provided more flexibility in keeping track of membership demographics, in addition to the integrated functionality and compatibility with CMA's accounting package. iMIS delivered in-depth reporting capabilities to help their team with member retention efforts, targeted communications, follow-up correspondence, and surveys.

Results

iMIS has improved CMA’s reporting capabilities, which is increasing the productivity of its member services department. The association is also now better able to manage and control the annual CMA Music Festival, as well as other major events. iMIS provides incomparable flexibility in handling the ticketing and seating for the yearly Awards show and keeps track of which members are able to vote and/or attend the show.
